Indian national cricket team captain Rohit Sharma along with Ravichandran Ashwin played a pivotal role for the team in the first Test match against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The hosts won the opening match of the game by a massive margin of 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Ravichandran Ashwin was fantastic with the bat and ball in the match against the Bangladesh national cricket team. The all-rounder put in a magical effort that enabled the Indian national cricket team to win the first match and get a massive 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
Ravichandran Ashwin was the first to make a big effort with the bat. He scored his sixth Test century and bailed out the Indian National Cricket Team. He scored 113 runs off 133 balls and also hit 10 fours and 2 sixes in his innings, propelling India to 376 runs.
After that, Ravichandran Ashwin unveiled his magic with the ball in the second innings. The off-spinner took 6 wickets with the ball and helped India win the game. He returned with the figures of 6/88 as the hosts bowled out the opposition for 234 runs to win the game.
On the other hand, though Rohit Sharma did not step up for his team with the bat he won, he was top-notch in his leadership. The Indian captain was brilliant with his tactics in the game as he made amazing changes in pitching and was also on point with his fielding changes as India ticked almost all the boxes correctly.
After the match, Rohit Sharma made sure to come up with a gesture. The Indian captain was seen spending time with Ravichandran Ashwin’s family. The opening batsman was talking to the bowler’s daughter and the video of that incident went viral on the internet and fans applauded the Indian captain.

Ravichandran Ashwin talks about his plan on the Chennai pitch
Ravichandran Ashwin spoke about his plan on the Chennai pitch. He said that he wanted to bowl slowly as the surface reacted only to slower balls. He also mentioned that he enjoys playing under pressure and admitted that he thinks like a bowler when he is batting.
Ashwin also spoke about whether this century was the fastest he has ever had and said that playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League helped him. He stated:
“Pace was key, I was earning the right to bowl slower, this is a surface where you react when you go slower. But if you bowl much slower, there is time to play from behind. I accept the pressure, I really enjoy being under pressure, I think like a bowler when I go out to bat. If there is a bowler who is at the end of the spell, I let him go, but otherwise I play shots and transfer the pressure.
“[if he knew this was his fastest 100] “I could tell that because it was coming at a fast pace. Generally here when you hit the ball it doesn’t travel faster but this was a different pitch, it felt like the 2010s, what helped was the preparation I did while playing in TNPL.”
