Suryakumar Yadav is going through a rough patch
India’s Mr 360 has not been in good form with the bat since he took over the leadership of the Indian T20I team from Rohit Sharma.
He was in absolutely sensational form in 2022 and 2023, but in 2024 there was a huge drop in his performance and things were extremely bad in 2025 as well.
In the first match of the T20I series against the Three Lions at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Suryakumar bagged a duck, and in the second T20I, he was back in the hut after scoring 12 runs off 7 balls, with 3 fours.
On the fourth ball of the sixth over, Brydon Carse bowled a 141.9 kmph delivery to the Indian captain, who tried to take it to third man but had little space.
The ball then hit the middle of the bat and then trudged back to the stumps and India were in a bit of trouble at 58/3. Overall, in his last 10 T20I innings, he has recorded scores of 12(7), 0(3), 1(4), 4(9), 21(17), 75(35), 8(10), 29. (14), 8(9) and 26(12).

What happened in the first T20I between India and England?
India put in an excellent performance to defeat England by 7 wickets in the first T20I at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
England batted first and struggled against the Indian bowling unit. Arshdeep Singh gave India an early breakthrough, dismissing Phil Salt and Ben Duckett. Jos Buttler was England’s only warrior, scoring a fantastic 68 off 44 balls.
However, he didn’t get much support from the other end as Varun Chakravarthy (3/23) ran through the middle order, dismissing Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone and the English captain. Additionally, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya contributed two wickets each, restricting England to a below-average total of 132.
In response, India chased down the target with ease. Abhishek Sharma emerged as the standout player, scoring 79 off 34 balls, which included eight sixes and five fours. Despite losing Sanju Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) early to Jofra Archer, Sharma’s aggressive hitting ensured India maintained a good pace and finished the chase in just 12.5 overs.
Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.
