Australia’s star batsman Travis Head posted a controversial story on his Instagram account, after which he was criticized by Indian users. The story was linked to India’s losses to Australia in the deciding games in the last two years.

In his story, Head posted the images of Australia’s recent victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the final victory of the World Test Championship in 2023 and the victory in the ODI World Cup 2023. He captioned his story with the phrase “It feels good”. In all these victories, Australia defeated India to lift the title.

Travis Head played a key role in all of these victories. The 31-year-old batsman smashed magnificent hundreds in the WTC final and ODI World Cup final to lead Australia to historic victories. He was named Player of the Match on both occasions.

Recently, he played a part in Australia’s victory in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a crucial knock in the second innings. The pitch was playing tricks and Australia struggled at one point. But the left-hander kept his composure to score an unbeaten 34 off 38 balls to lead Australia to a memorable victory.

Head’s controversial gesture

A few days ago, Travis Head made some rude gestures after dismissing Rishabh Pant during the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Head stuck his fingers into a hole created by his other hand. The wicket was the turning point of the match as India suffered a shocking collapse and lost the match in dramatic fashion.

The head was hit by former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, who called it an insult to the Indian people. However, he later clarified that it was just a “finger in the ice” gesture and refused to admit anything obscene about it.

He was also involved in a verbal altercation with India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj during the second Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Travis Head emerged as the leading run-scorer of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 448 runs in five Tests at an average of 56. He scored runs at a blistering strike rate of 92.56 and smashed 2 hundreds and fifties in the process . .

Head has been an enemy for India in recent years. The left-handed batsman has been in exceptional form and has the ability to take the game away from the opponent with his attacking style of batting.

The defeat in the Sydney Test has left India out of the final race of the World Test Championship. Australia has already qualified for the summit and will face South Africa at Lord’s in June 2025.
