Indian national cricket team all-rounder Washington Sundar was not happy with the way he came out in the ongoing match against the Australian national cricket team. The fifth match of the series between the teams will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
Indian national cricket team all-rounder Washington Sundar fought hard for his team with the bat in the ongoing game. With the team losing wickets rapidly, the left-hander tried to up the ante and hit some boundaries to take his team to the fight total on the board.
Washington Sundar looked good with the bat but his stay in the area was cut short by the controversial dismissal
Washington Sundar looked good with the bat but his stay at the crease was cut short by the controversial dismissal. The Indian national cricket team all-rounder was dropped by Australia national cricket team captain Pat Cummins, who initially had no intention of taking the DRS.
Pat Cummins bowled a short ball that was tilted towards the leg side. Washington Sundar tried to make the pull but failed. Alex Carey, behind the stumps, called for a catch and persuaded the captain to take the DRS, but the captain did not seem confident at first.
The third umpire reviewed the call and there was a slight spike when the ball was next to the glove. But television referee Joel Wilson said there was a hole at the bottom of the glove. After that, he called for a lateral rep and then slow motion reps.
However, he couldn’t understand the exact thing and said, “The ball is very close to the glove and I can’t differentiate any gap between the glove and the ball and there is a spike and the ball came close to the glove.” The on-field umpire was then ordered to overturn the decision and Washington Sundar had to retire.
Washington Sundar, however, seemed extremely dejected at the way he was handed over. He was clearly dissatisfied and walked with his head down.
