Punjab Kings will play the next 2 June 1 qualifier, while RCB has reached the final of the IPL 2025.
Punjab Kings captain (PBKs), Shreyas Iyer, said it was not a day to forget for his team after his eight Wickt defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 1 IPL 2025 qualifier in Mullanpur on Thursday.
Shreyas Iyer, however, emphasized that his team needs to improve in terms of his batting in such Wickt. On Thursday there was a lot of grass in the countryside, which would have helped the batters. However, Punjab Kings, who were asked to beat first, ended up being removed by 101 in 14.1 overs.
Shreyas Iyer speaks after the loss
“It is not a day to forget, but I have to return to the drawing board. We lost many wickts (in the first entries). There is a lot to return and study. I do not doubt my decisions to be honest. What we did in terms of planning, outside the land we did (planning), I think it was at the point. Only we could not execute it in the field,” Shreyas Iyer said after the game).
“I can’t even blame bowling players, as it was a low total to defend themselves. We had to work on our batting, especially in this wickt,” he added.
