‘You can’t have that …’: Kohli virat hits the announcers, he says that the approach should be in the Crick, not in his food

He felt that this type of content does not belong to Cricket’s match coverage.

Virat Kohli said he was not happy when television stations talked about their favorite place to eat Chhole-Bhature in Delhi.

Speaking at the Indian Innovation Lab RCB Sports Summit on Saturday, March 15, he said that his work is to talk about Cricket, not about his food choices.

During his return to the Ranji trophy in 2025, the Chilli Paneer Kohli virat lunch order called public attention again and went viral. In the event, Kohli approached the problem, urging the emitters to focus more on the game themselves instead of raising their favorite food places in Delhi during live coverage.

A similar incident took place in 2023 during the Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia. The second day of the test, Kohli’s lunch became a conversation issue, with cameras that frequently show it eating. The situation intensified to the extent that Rahul Dravid had to intervene and comment on food options.

Kohli shares the vision of an Indian driven by sports

Virat Kohli talked about the efforts made to turn India into a country that prioritizes sports. He mentioned that the vision is already in place and that the necessary bases are happening at this time. According to him, it is a shared responsibility for all involved, not only for those who build facilities or invest money. He also pointed out that fans and spectators play an important role in this trip. Kohli emphasized the need for education to help develop a stronger sports culture in the country.

“We are working towards India to become a sports nation. We have the vision. We have the bases that occur today. It should be a collective responsibility of all involved. It is not just about infrastructure or people who infuse money. It is also the people who look. We need education, ”said Virat Kohli at the Sports Summit of India RCB Innovation Lab.

Kohli emphasized that a transmission should focus on the game itself, not on personal details such as what he had for lunch or where he likes to eat badly in Delhi. He felt that this type of content does not belong to Cricket’s match coverage. Instead, he suggested that it would be more significant to discuss what an athlete is experiencing or happening during the game.

“A transmission program needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favorite place of Chhole-Bhature in Delhi. You can’t have that in Cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what is happening an athlete, ”he added.
