Kris Srikkanth recalled an interesting incident between himself and Kapil Dev. “There was no live broadcast of that game. It’s a shame they didn’t watch that game, just like they haven’t seen the greatest ODI innings ever played by Kapil Dev at Tunbridge Wells against Zimbabwe. he claimed.

“It was a very cold day. Our manager, Man Singh, would not allow us to move an inch from our positions in the dressing room. Vishy (Gundappa Viswanath) was not in the team, but he was invited to the final and was in the dressing room. He was a master of that shot and by the time I hit that limit, I tried to find it.” added.

It was a bit immature of me the way I came out in the last ball of Malcolm Marshall’s spell – Kris Srikkanth

Kris Srikkanth revealed how Mohinder Amarnath guided him during the final against the West Indies. Kris Srikkanth had played an effective 38-run stroke and was a bit disappointed not to make the most of the start.

“Jimmy who told me to play my natural game and that’s what gave me confidence. It seems surreal when I look back at the scorecard now and realize that it was the highest score. But you know, it was a little immature of me the way I got the last ball out of Malcolm Marshall’s spell. If he had survived, there would be spinners to follow and he could have cashed in.” Kris Srikkanth said.
