Rajasthan Royals made some potentially expensive mistakes while rebuilding his side for IPL 2025.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) witnessed his best period in the previous auction cycle since he won the opening edition of the Premier League of the India Premier in 2008. They were the runners -up in the IPL 2022 and reached the playoffs in the 2024 season.
Rajasthan Royals had built a formidable side in recent years, but had to start over due to the mega auction. Before the auction, they retained their nucleus with five Indian players and a batter abroad.
Despite having Rahul Dravid back as a chief coach, Rajasthan Royals made some potentially expensive mistakes while rebuilding his side for IPL 2025.
Do not keep Jos Buttler and not get an alternative
Rajasthan Royals had a highly successful seven -year association with Jos Buttler. In this period, English was the best opening batter in the IPL, with 3055 races at an average of 41.8 and an attack rate of 147.8. It has been the best batter for the real during this time, but to ensure future stars, they chose not to retain it.
At the 2025 IPL auction, they tried to return it, participating in a war war with the Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals was up to 9.25 million rupees before giving up.
If not recovering Buttler was not a large enough mistake, RR could not get an alternative opener abroad. As a result, they will have to match Yashavi Jaiswal with an inexperienced or inconsistent Indian option.
DHRUV JUREL – An expensive clearing of Rajasthan Reales?
The real made an important call to support their young Indian players, who can play for them in the coming years. They retained Sanju Samson, Yashavi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Sandeep Sharma along with Shimron Hetmyer.
However, the expenditure of 14 million rupees to acquire jurel proved to be a topic of debate. The 24 -year -old has played two full seasons for RR, scoring 347 races at a 151 strike rate while averaging only 23. Obviously they observed the potential and their age to make this decision, but perhaps the price seems too high.

There are no batting options abroad apart from Shimron Hetmyer
It was quite surprising to see Rajasthan Royals not secure any mass abroad at the IPL 2025 auction. They bought three sailors abroad and two spinners, filling six of the eight assigned points.
Shimron Hetmyer has had physical conditioning problems in the past, and if it is injured by some games, they would be in a disastrous position. The real ones have two vacancious batting points, which are probably filled by Niten Rana and another young domestic.
On paper, it does not seem to be an intimidating alignment and if one of them is marginalized, they would have to trust inexperienced domestic batters.
