The Kiwi Speedster has been part of the Punjab Kings and Lucknow Supergiants previously.
Matt Henry has opened Zimbabwe’s batting order. The 33 -year -old picked up six wickts in the first tickets of the first test in Bulawayo. He was in full shape and the ball in his hand spoke, since the Kiwis concluded Zimbabwe’s tickets for only 149. Captain Craig Ervine won the raffle and chose to hit first, but New Zealand shook them to win a superior land in the trial match.
To everyone’s surprise, a Matt Henry balance player was not sold for the recent edition of India Premier League (IPL). He has played six games in total, for only two franchises in the league. His last period was with the Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) in 2024. He thought of four games and could only choose a lonely wickt, giving 110 races in the deal. But his game has certainly improved to publish that.
After choosing 17 Wickts against Australia at home, he ran through the Indian batting alignment in Bangalore in 2024. He finished with a five wickt route, giving only 15 races. After repeating the same heroics against England at home, Henry impressed in the series of white banks against the Sri Lanka. He registered 10 WICKETS in the ICC champions trophy before bringing discarded from the final due to an injury.
Many franchises will regret not having collected it at the IPL 2025 auctions when it was at stake. The Kiwi pacemaker was already on the road to the improvement of its multiple bolero, and could have been beneficial for many of the franchises. However, with the trades and transfers for the next cycle on the horizon, here are three teams that could go to sign Matt Henry before IPL 2026.
Gujarat Titans
The one -time IPL champions could be attentive to a good foreign pacemaker. Gerald Coetzee may not adapt to the retention criteria and can be released to the auction group. Therefore, it will be a good opportunity for the Titans to go to someone like Henry, who has been increasing since a long time.
Together with the rhythm, the Speedster Kiwi also provides precision and variations to the mixture. Looking at how the Titans have launched in the recent season, they may need some variety in death to attach with people like Kagiso Rabada. Azmatullah Omarzai has gone very well in terms of his integral skills, and the team can involve Henry to play death, along with their variations.
Chennai Super Kings
Another franchise that could be in the need of a quality bowling player for the next season is Chennai Super Kings. The five -time IPL champions have characters like Sam Curran and Nathan Ellis, but this time he failed to have an impact with the new ball.
With the tastes of Matt Henry, CSK will have the cushion of a bowling player who can play well at all stages. In addition, the releases in Chennai sometimes have double pace in nature. They provide help with the new ball in the power game. To add to that, the releases also help slower balls towards the end of the entries. Therefore, the Kiwi pacemaker would be useful for the yellow army, if they look for a pacemaker abroad.

Rajasthan Royals
The champions of the inaugural season have Kwena Mhaka and Nandre Burger on the team. But apart from Jofra Archer, the real ones do not have any foreign sprinter that can add rhythm to their wings. The tastes of tushar undande and Akash Madhwal will find themselves in the XI game regularly. But they may not have the same impact that Matt Henry can create.
The real admitted 200 races in seven of their 14 games last season. This was clearly one of the reasons why they could not qualify for the playoffs. If they sign Matt Henry, it would help their chances of playing bowling in death. With its variations and changes in the rhythm, the New Zealand pacemaker is extremely difficult to read in death. He has received a beating in the past, but looks like a very improved bowling player since the 2024 season.
