Bhuvneshwar Kumar is expected to attract a lot of attention in the IPL 2025 auction due to his supreme skills with the new ball.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was among the players released by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. He has been with SRH for the last decade since 2014 but has been left out due to his dwindling experience.
However, he still has a lot to offer and his vast experience will continue to be more than useful to any team. Indian bowlers are the most important members of an IPL XI, and Bhuvneshwar is a proven player in the league.
Several teams will be chasing him during the IPL 2025 auction, and we assume three of them will be in this segment.
Bombay Indians
Mumbai Indians (MI) could be among the first teams to chase Bhuvneshwar Kumar during the auction for multiple reasons. MI has struggled to find a suitable partner for Jasprit Bumrah of late, with Bhuvneshwar previously working with Bumrah while playing for India.
Furthermore, he is a true bowler of new wickets and will receive ample help at Wankhede from the start. MI like to have experience in the pace department and Bhuvneshwar ticks all the boxes to join them in the upcoming season.

Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans (GT) invest heavily in experienced Indian bowlers, as evidenced by their previous acquisition of Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is another similar player who will enjoy working with Ashish Nehra.
He will also get some movement with the new ball early on in Ahmedabad, while his death skills will also come in handy. If GT doesn’t get Shami, they will definitely try to get Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Riders of the Knights of Calcutta
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have released new-ball specialists Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora from their team. Therefore, they will desperately need powerplay specialists to accommodate Harshit Rana in the middle and death overs.
Bhuvneshwar will also partner Harshit in the death overs and help KKR utilize overseas slots in other important roles. Its price will not be as high as previous editions, so it will fit into KKR’s budget.
