Despite having a strong unit, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) fought to win games in IPL 2025. They could only win four games of 14 and will probably end ninth, just above Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Even if they endured a difficult race, they had moments and several positive aspects to take this season. Now is the time to advance and plan the next edition, probably improving in some areas instead of a complete renewal.

We observe four auction areas to which the Rajasthan real should point after the IPL 2025 output.

Alternatives in the lower medium order

Rajasthan Royals retained Shimron Hetmyer before the IPL 2025 auction, but the measure did not work for the team. Hetmyer failed massively in his role and showed obvious problems, which were easily exploitable for the opponent. Then, RR must look for alternatives, even if they retain Hetmyer for the next season.

He would like more options for his role, which was missing this season. RR confided greatly in Hetmyer to make the lower order blows, and things could have been different if they had someone else as support. Therefore, the key would be to find more players of this type to play the same role.

Most franchises will launch players like David Miller and Glenn Phillips. Some national players will also be available. Therefore, RR can choose between limited options in the mini auction.

Rajasthan Royals filled his squad with two Sri Lanka spinners: Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana. Unfortunately, these two could not perform according to expectations, and RR must release them to release the budget and slots. In general, IPL teams invest in spinning, and RR must do the same, since several quality options are available nationwide.

This IPL season has seen the emergence of several local spinners without experience at this level. Therefore, RR must find national talent instead of investing in spinning abroad. That allows them to use spaces abroad in other crucial roles.

Ravi Bishnoi could be released and fit perfectly into the configuration, while Rahul Chahar could be another option. Chahaha also has local knowledge and will understand the place in Jaipur. Several other fresh faces will be at stake at the auction.

More SUVs

Instead of investing in specialized spinners abroad, RR should find all the re -rigs in this department. While Indian terrain are a luxury, having SUV abroad is not a problem. A few quality players have presented themselves lately, and RR should obtain at least one.

The problem with specialized spinners abroad is that they take a slot while reducing batting depth. RR tried to use Wanindu Hasaranga’s batting, but it is not a mass good enough to succeed in IPL. Even other spinners in his squad, such as Kumar Kartikeya, are not known for batting.

There are options such as Michael Bracewell and George Linde, who have been constantly well. They provide precise bowling and energy impulses in the lower order to support other batters in the alignment. That will balance the squad and give more freedom to batters.

More finalists

Rajasthan Royals had Shubham Dubey for this role, but did not get consistent opportunities. While RR can continue with him, they will also want backups for this role. In the current team, RR does not have backups for this role.

This is the most difficult work in the Cricket T20, so the options are limited. CSK could launch Jamie Overton, and GT should launch Dasun Shanoka. Therefore, RR can obtain one of them or choose the other new options available at the auction.

Among the Indians, most quality players are already busy, but some new ones will come in the next auction. Despite having an impact player, the RR batting unit ended quite fast, which should not be the case. The excessive dependence in the higher and medium order should end so that RR reaches great scores or closes the objectives, which have failed in numerous times this season.
