Jos Buttler was acquired by Gujarat Titans for INR 15.75 crore after being released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. The captain of the England white team, who had been in RR since 2018, became the player highest paid foreigner in the auction.

Buttler will be an important foreign player in the Gujarat line-up and will also take up wicketkeeping responsibilities. He is expected to partner Shubman Gill as the opening duo of IPL 2025, bringing his vast experience to strengthen the team’s batting order.

Sherfane Rutherford

Sherfane Rutherford was bought by Gujarat Titans for INR 2.60 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. He had limited chances with Kolkata Knight Riders, where he mainly served as a back-up to Andre Russell. However, he is now set to play a bigger role in GT.

With the release of David Miller, Rutherford is likely to take on a similar role in the middle order. Strong against pace, he is expected to make a valuable contribution to the team’s batting. Although the Gujarat Titans also acquired Glenn Phillips, Sherfane Rutherford is expected to be the preferred option for the upcoming season.

Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan, one of the most impactful T20 players, was signed by Gujarat Titans for INR 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Known for his skills with both bat and ball, Rashid has proven to be a winner in the shortest format of the game.

As a bowler, Rashid excels in various phases of the game, often taking crucial wickets despite bowling difficult overs. He is also a reliable lower order batsman, capable of contributing valuable runs when required. With his versatile skills, Rashid will play a vital role for the Gujarat Titans in the upcoming season, forming a strong duo with Washington Sundar.

Kagiso Rabada

Gujarat Titans secured Kagiso Rabada for INR 10.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction after a bidding battle with RCB and MI. Punjab Kings released him before the auction, and although Punjab had the option of using the Right to Match (RTM) card, they decided not to, allowing Rabada to join Gujarat.

With the addition of Rabada alongside Mohammed Siraj, Gujarat now has a strong bowling pair that can effectively handle both the powerplay and the death over. Although they also signed Gerald Coetzee, Rabada is expected to be Gujarat’s first-choice bowler in the upcoming season.
