He scored a fiery 76 off 36 balls.
One of the latest sensations of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is lighting up the ongoing U19 Asia Cup with his ferocious batting. Bihar prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 13, made headlines after becoming the youngest cricketer to be picked in an IPL auction. Not only that, he also bagged a lucrative contract worth INR 1.1 crore after Rajasthan Royals secured his services.
Suryavanshi is now taking all the right steps and justified his price with a spectacular batting display against the UAE today (December 4). Suryavanshi scored an unbeaten 76 in India’s final group match in Sharjah.
Chasing a target of 138 runs, Suryavanshi showed no nerves as he bowled his first delivery for a six-wicket sweep through mid-wicket in the second over against UAE spinner Aliasgar. The powerful left-hander signaled his aggressive intent early on, smashing two more sixes, one at long length and the other at mid-wicket by left-arm bowler Aayan Khan.
Showing his dominance, the Bihar batsman once again took on Aliasgar, hitting a sharp cross-court shot over mid-wicket boundary for his fourth six in just 10 balls.
