The teams will expect positive updates soon as their squads finish for the new season.

The IPL 2025 season is just around the corner, as of March 22 with Kolkat Knight Riders facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. As the tournament approaches, many teams are still waiting for physical conditioning updates about some of their important players.

A great concern is Jasprit Bumrah, who probably misses the matches of the Mumbai Indians in March. In addition to him, some other players are also waiting for the green signal of the National Academy of Cricket (NCA) or the Center of Excellence before they can join their IPL teams.

Here is a look at five Cricket players who have not yet received an authorization from the NCA to play at IPL 2025. The teams will wait positive updates soon as their squadrons finish for the new season.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action since he suffered a back injury during the first Sydney test entries in the Border-Gavavar trophy earlier this year. He has been rehabilitating at the National Academy of Cricket in Bengaluru, where the former head of BCCI Sports Sciences, Nitin Patel, is personally monitoring his rehabilitation. Bumrah underwent surgery on the back in early 2023, and although he is progressing, his complete recovery is still being monitored closely.

There is hope that Bumrah will be authorized to play at the end of March. The Mumbai Indians will play their first game at home on March 31 against Kolkata Knight Riders. If everything goes well, Bumrah could join the team in early April.

Sanja Samson

Sanju Samson suffered a fracture on his right index finger during the Home T20 series against England last month. He had to undergo surgery due to the injury and has been recovering since then. Recently, he passed the physical conditioning test for his batting, but still needs to obtain the NCA authorization for his WICKETKEEPING.

There is probable that there are more tests in the next few days to verify if you are completely fit to keep the wickts. Rajasthan Royals could obtain a complete or partial authorization for him soon. If you are not ready to maintain, DHRUV Jurel is available in the squad to take care of WICKET maintenance tasks. Rajasthan Royals will play his first IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.

Mayank Yadav

It is likely that the rapid player of the Lucknow Super Giants, Mayank Yadav, the first half of IPL 2025 will be lost. According to ESSSPCricinfo, he is recovering from a lumbar stress injury and has resumed the bowling at the BCCI center of excellence in Bengaluru.

Mayank picked up the injury after its debut in India in the T20i series against Bangladesh last October. There is still no confirmed return date, but if it cleans all physical condition tests and builds its bowling workload, it could be available in the second half of the season.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan is recovering from a knee cartilage problem. After finishing the Ranji trophy with Madhya Pradesh in January, he was sent to the NCA to receive treatment. He also took injections for his injury and has been in rehabilitation since then.

There is hope that Avesh can be authorized to play on time for the Lucknow Super Giants opening game. If it is in shape, it is expected to be part of the eleven play and lead the rhythm attack for the team.

Mohsin Khan

Mohsin Khan’s exact injury is not clearly known. The last time he played a national game on December 31, 2024 to Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare trophy. He blocked only 5.5 overs in that game and has been missing from the action since then.

Despite the uncertainty, Mohsin is also expected to be ready for the beginning of IPL 2025. If it is fit, it could be in the initial alignment for the first LSG game along with Avesh Khan.
