5 teams that can ruin Arshdeep Singh in IPL 2025 auction

Arshdeep Singh has hugely earned his reputation as a pacer in the last few years, delivering consistently in India and in the IPL.

As the mega auction of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 approaches, franchises are meticulously planning to form teams that are formidable and can compete for the title. One player who is expected to kick off intense bidding wars is left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh.

Released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the auction, Arshdeep’s consistent performances in both the IPL and T20Is for India have made him a sought-after asset. It was registered for the IPL 2025 auction at a base price of INR 2 crore.

Here, we explore five teams that might be willing to spend a lot of money to secure his services.

1. Calcutta Knights Riders (KKR)

Kolkata Knight Riders have shown great interest in strengthening their attacking pace. Reports suggest that KKR are considering Arshdeep Singh to lead their bowling unit. His ability to deliver in both powerplays and death plays aligns with KKR’s strategy of strengthening their bowling department with Indian talent.

He can form a lethal fast bowling partnership with Harshit Rana, who KKR has retained. Furthermore, Arshdeep’s experience and composure under pressure make him an ideal candidate to lead KKR’s pace battery.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)

Royal Challengers Bangalore have historically faced deadly bowling challenges. Arshdeep’s skill in playing yorkers and his variations during the crucial final overs could be the solution RCB needs.

Pairing him with existing bowlers like Yash Dayal could provide RCB with a potent left-arm pace duo, improving their bowling depth and versatility.

3. Gujarat Titans (GT)

With Mohammed Shami sidelined due to injury, the Gujarat Titans are looking for a reliable Indian fast bowler. Arshdeep’s consistent performances and his ability to swing the ball make him a suitable replacement.

His inclusion would not only fill the void left by Shami but also add a strategic left-arm option to GT’s bowling arsenal, providing variety and balance.

4. Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals have retained a strong batting line-up but are looking to strengthen their bowling attack. Arshdeep’s ability to take early wickets and control the flow of runs in the death overs could complement RR’s existing bowler Sandeep Sharma.

With Trent Boult released, Arshdeep’s ability to spin the ball both ways and maintain tight lines would be invaluable in the powerplay, setting the tone for the innings.

5. Kings of Punjab (PBKS)

Despite releasing Arshdeep before the auction, Punjab Kings could consider reacquiring him using the Right to Match (RTM) card.

His familiarity with the team environment and proven track record make him a valuable asset. Retaining Arshdeep would provide PBKS with a reliable leader for their bowling attack, ensuring continuity and stability.
