The director is critically acclaimed for making sports biographical films.

In a recent exciting development, renowned Bollywood director Kabir Khan is learned to be keen to make a biopic on former Indian captain and star batsman Virat Kohli. The 36-year-old has witnessed an inspiring journey from his under-19 days to becoming one of the sport’s greats and the story is likely to soon become a feature for celluloid.

Critically acclaimed for doing sports biopics, Kabir Khan, during a chat with journalist Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, spoke about his interest in approaching the star cricketer for a biopic.

Kabir said, “You don’t just make an image of cricket, but of the entire character. I find Virat very interesting because of his personality off the field. Regardless of what I have read or seen, I find your way of thinking and following fitness very interesting. I would say that if I have the option, then definitely [I would choose] Virat Kohli for a biopic.”

Kabir Khan was present on Day 1 of the ongoing third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at The Gabba.

Talking about Kabir Khan’s credentials, he directed the film ’83’, a sports biopic depicting India’s iconic victory in the 1983 World Cup under the leadership of Kapil Dev. Next, the director also worked in ‘ Chandu Champion’, with Kartik Aryan, a biopic on Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently participating in the third Test of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series against Australia.

While India opted to bat first after winning the toss, the opening day (December 14) was cut short by rain, allowing only 13.2 overs of play.

Interestingly, Kabir Khan was among the spectators who attended on day 1 of the test.
