Adam Gilchrist, Ms Dhoni

Former Australian national cricket team opener Adam Gilchrist has named his top three wicketkeepers. He also named MS Dhoni as his favourite wicketkeeper and said that he likes the way Chennai Super Kings players remain calm and composed.

The game of cricket has seen many batsmen who have made a name for themselves. The art of keeping the ball is not easy, but there have been some who have mastered it and are still considered to be the best batsmen in the game. One of them is Adam Gilchrist.

Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist is arguably the greatest batsman in the history of the game. The left-hander, apart from being a great batsman, was an explosive hitter and often tilted the game in his team’s favour, leading them to famous victories.

Gilchrist played a very important role in the Australian national cricket team’s victory in the 2002 and 2007 World Cups. While he was considered the best wicket-keeper batsman in his team, he also named his favourite teammates, whom he enjoyed watching.

Gilchrist named Rodney Marsh as his idol and said he wanted to be like him. Marsh played 96 Test matches for Australia between 1970 and 1984. Gilchrist also mentioned former Indian wicket-keeper and batsman MS Dhoni as his favourite wicket-keeper.

Gilchrist’s favourite batsman’s surname was Kumar Sangakkara. He said the former Sri Lanka national cricketer was classy and a top-class batsman and fielder. Speaking to the Times of India, he explained:

“Rodney Marsh was my idol. I wanted to be one. I like the calmness of MS Dhoni. He did it his way, always calm. And Kumar Sangakkara. He was very elegant in everything he did, batted at the top of the order and had the skills to keep the ball.”

I would say Australia – Adam Gilchrist on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy result

Adam Gilchrist also makes his predictions for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that Australia will have something to prove. He believes that it will be a close fight between the teams. He explained:

“The onus is on Australia to prove that they are the dominant force at home. India knows how to win abroad. Naturally, I would say Australia, I hope they do. But it’s too difficult to predict. It will be a close fight.”

The Border-Gavaskar match will begin on November 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The Indian national cricket team has dominated their last two tours, winning two consecutive series. They will be keen to achieve the same feat this time as well. On the other hand, the Australian national cricket team will be hoping to prove their dominance and take revenge on India. This will also be the first time in decades that both teams will face each other in the five-match Test series.
