Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in a limited-overs series against Bangladesh in July. The series is scheduled to be played at the Shahid Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida.
According to a Sportstar report, the teams are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against each other in the upcoming series. The series will run from July 25 to August 6. Bangladesh will reach Greater Noida via New Delhi on July 22 and will train for two days before the first ODI takes place.
The Greater Noida venue will host an international match for the first time since 2020. Not long ago, it was Afghanistan’s base, but of late they have played their home games in the United Arab Emirates. However, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) officials met BCCI officials during the ODI World Cup last year and expressed their desire to play home matches in India again.
“We have worked closely with the BCCI to resume our organizing agreement, making this series possible after a long gap,” ACB CEO Naseeb Khan told Sportstar.
“The BCCI has allotted us two grounds, one in Kanpur and the other in Greater Noida. Since we have played in Greater Noida in the past, we decided to host the series against Bangladesh there,” Khan added.

According to Sportstar, the first ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh is scheduled for July 25, while the next two games will take place on July 27 and 30. The T20I series will be played from August 2. The second and third T20Is are scheduled. which will be played on August 6.

Meanwhile, both Afghanistan and Bangladesh are currently in the Caribbean for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Both teams have qualified for the Super 8s and are included in Group 1 along with India and Australia.
