On Tuesday, September 3, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the appointment of Ajay Ratra as the newest member of the Men’s Selection Committee led by Ajit Agarkar.

Former India batsman and wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra replaced Salil Ankola in the panel and brings a good amount of experience.

In the official statement released, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Ajay Ratra will work with the other selectors to identify the best talent in the country and provide adequate number of opportunities to the players.

“The Cricket Advisory Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday appointed Mr Ajay Ratra as the new member of the Men’s Selection Committee headed by Mr Ajit Agarkar. Mr Ratra will replace Mr Salil Ankola on the Committee,” the BCCI said.

“As a selector, Mr Ratra will work alongside the current members of the selection committee to identify and nurture the next generation of cricketers who will represent India on the world stage,” BCCI added.

“His expertise will be instrumental in the committee ensuring that top talent is identified, nurtured and given the opportunity to excel at the highest level,” BCCI further wrote.
