Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has set the record straight on his comments on Rohit Sharma’s move to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said he expressed a desire for that to happen and didn’t confirm anything.

Ambati Rayudu recently made headlines for the comments she made about Rohit Sharma. The former Mumbai Indians player expressed his desire to see the Indian captain playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL after MS Dhoni retires from the league.

Ambati Rayudu said that Rohit Sharma still has 5-6 years of cricket left in him and should finish his career playing for Chennai Super Kings. There has also been a lot of speculation in this regard due to the way Mumbai Indians treated Rohit Sharma as the captain of the team.

Rohit Sharma, who guided Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles, was removed as team captain. The franchise handed over leadership to Hardik Pandya, who was traded before the season. This did not sit well with many as they attacked the franchise.

Rohit Sharma made Mumbai Indians a force to reckon with in the league. He took over the leadership of the team in 2013 and made sure to lead the team to win the title in the first season he was captain.

After that, Rohit Sharma did not look back and took Mumbai Indians to great heights. He led the team to four more titles and became the league’s most successful leader before he was joined by MS Dhoni, who won the fifth title for CSK last year.

In the upcoming edition of the IPL, Rohit Sharma will play like a real player in the league. He has had great success as a hitter and as a league leader. But seeing him not captain the team would be hard to swallow for Mumbai Indians fans.

I am sure Rohit will have a great time in the last phase of his career if he takes the leap – Ambati Rayudu on Rohit Sharma

Ambati Rayudu gave a new insight into what he said about Rohit Sharma moving to Chennai Super Kings after Mumbai Indians. He said that moving to the Yellow Army was not difficult as he and Harbhajan Singh also did the same.

Ambati Rayudu was optimistic and said that if Rohit Sharma moves to CSK for the last phase of his career, he will have a great time. Speaking to Star Sports, he stated:

“I said it is my wish or opinion. I never said I would play for Chennai Super Kings. It depends on CSK and Rohit, but at the end of the day it is not that difficult to go from Mumbai to CSK.

“Harbhajan Singh did it, I did it, so the transition is quite smooth and CSK are a great team to play for. I am sure Rohit will have a great time in the latter phase of his career if he takes the leap.”

Apart from Ambati Rayudu and Harbhajan Singh, Dwayne Bravo, Karn Sharma and Dwayne Smith are other players who jumped from MI to CSK.
