Rohit Sharma had mentioned Siraj’s ability to collect wickts with the old ball for his champions trophy
Mohammed Siraj has been among the most regular senior members of the Indian team in all formats. The pacemaker has played 21 tests, 28 hate and eight T20is since 2023 and has claimed a combined total of 104 Wickts.
However, a torrid Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where he claimed 20 10 input wicks and failed to step forward in the final test in Sydney in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah saw him eliminated from the next important tournament.

When asked about Siraj’s Desaira, Indian Captain Rohit Sharma had chosen a specific detail.
“The effectiveness of Siraj is reduced a bit if you are not going to take the new ball. We argue extensively and we are only taking three sailors there (CT) because we wanted all the entire terrain with us,” Rohit said at the press conference for the squad announcement.

Before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Siraj did not hide his disappointment when he responded to Rohit with a self -assessment.

Siraj, who was released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru after eight seasons, will appear for IPL 2022 Gujarat Titans champions in the new season. The 31 -year -old said that unexpected rest has helped him work in his physical state and other aspects of his bowling.
“I have been playing for some years and, in general, we do not rest so much. But now that I have a free time, I have worked on my physical and bowling skills. I have worked very hard with how to play with new and old balls, and I wanted to work on my slowest balls and yorkers.
