Ashwani Kumar, who was given his debut in the Premier League (IPL) of India by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), ended up writing history with his impressive bowl of bowling.

Ashwani recorded the best bowling figures on the IPL debut by an Indian after ending with a 3-0-24-4 spell.

In the process, he also joined the ranks of Alzarri Joseph (6/12), Andrew Tye (5/17) and Shoaib Akhtar (4/11), the three main names to have the best spell in the debut. In general, Ashwani has the best figures.

The 23 -year -old rhythm sensation obtained the key wicks from Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell when KKR’s batting alignment collapsed in Wankhede.

Speaking at the break of the intermediation in the mid -entries after achieving the feat, Ashwani said: “I felt very good, there was pressure, but the team’s environment helped me establish myself. I did not have lunch today, I just ate a banana, there was some pressure, so I did not feel hungry. I made a little plan, they (the team management) told me that it is my debut to enjoy your skills.”

Talking about the game my vs KKR, the defenders fought after Kkr put them to hit first. The three times IPL winners recorded the lowest score of the season, since they were removed by 116 in 16.2 overs. In addition to Ashwani, Deepak Chahar got two scalp, while all other bowling players obtained a wickt each.

For KKR, Angkrish Raguvanshi Top scored with a 16 balls 26. Ramandeep Singh hit a fast fire cameo of 12 balls 22 towards the backend to give KKR bowling players something to fight with.
