Speaking to reporters ahead of the ENG vs AUS 4th Test in Manchester, Mark Wood said he will let his body recover and then prepare for the next match.
“This was my first game in a long, long time, especially Test Cricket. I’ll let the body recover, I’ll get into a good space, I’ll let the injuries heal and I’ll get up for the next one,” said the 33-year-old pacemaker.

Mark Wood also added that he played three straight games against Australia last time. He will use that experience to create another fine show at Ashes 2023.
“I made four [Tests] in Australia last time and three of them were followed. It’s a great question, but I’ve asked it before and I’ll draw on that experience to try to do it again. I’ll talk to the physio, but I figure I’ll bowl once or twice, do a couple of gym sessions, maybe some running, but it won’t be too drastic. I have to let the body recover,” said Wood, who arrived at Ashes 2023 just after IPL 2023.

Taking 7 wickets in just 1 Test at an average of 14.29, Wood made a wonderful start to the series. The goal for him will be to put up amazing performances in the next two games as well. ENG vs AUS 4th Test of Ashes 2023 will take place at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.
