Australian tour of Scotland 2024 schedule announced

The Scotland National Cricket Team is set to host the Australia National Cricket Team in the three-match T20I series in September later this year. Both cricket boards confirmed the schedule on Friday (July 14).

The T20I series between Scotland and Australia will begin from September 4. The second match of the series between the teams will be played on September 6. The last match between both nations will be played on September 7.

All three matches will be played at The Grange, Edinburgh. This will be the first time since 2013 that Australia will travel to Scotland. The two teams then faced each other in the ODI series and Australia won the series. They last faced each other in the 2015 ODI World Cup.

Since the 2015 ODI World Cup, Australia and Scotland will meet for the first time in the T20 World Cup 2024. The match between the two teams will be played on Sunday (June 16) at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet . St. Lucia.

Scotland captain Richie Barrington spoke about the upcoming series against Australia and said that he was lucky to play the series between the teams in 2013. He said that his team will relish the opportunity to play against the best and it will be a competitive series. He said:

“It’s fantastic to have this home series to look forward to later in the summer, which should be a delight for all our supporters. I was lucky enough to play in the Scotland team the last time Australia visited in 2013, and although the result No Not going our way that day, it was a great occasion to be a part of.

“Our players always relish the opportunity to test themselves against the best teams in the world and we have shown good form so far in this World Cup, so I am sure it will be an exciting and competitive series.”

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh also spoke about the series against Scotland and said that he is excited about the series and the team is excited. He recalled how his brother Shaun Marsh played last time and also praised Scotland Cricket for its development by leaps and bounds. He explained:

“I’m really excited about the trip and the series in Scotland, and I know the team is really excited too. My brother Shaun was lucky enough to play in our last game in Edinburgh and he had nothing but good things to say, so it will be great to follow in his footsteps. Scotland have become a really good unit, as we have seen at this World Cup. It will be a great privilege to play against them at home.”

Coming into the T20 World Cup 2024 match between the teams, Australia has qualified for the Super 8 phase, while a victory for Scotland can take them to the next phase.
