Wasim Jaffer chooses Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of the Indian test
The former player recently shared his opinion on the test captaincy in X (previously Twitter). According to him, BCCI should deliver the leadership to Bumrah, based on his experience in the longest Cricket format. In addition, they could appoint the young Gill as the ViceCapitán, who could assume responsibilities in the absence of the pacemaker.
“I think Bumrah is an automatic choice of the captaincy, unless he does not want responsibility. He should be the captain with Gill as VC, intervening when Bumrah needs to rest. In this way, Gill could also prepare himself without the pressure of being the captain in full time,” the former player wrote.
This would help Bumrah manage his workload, and Gill could also shape his leadership skills without any sudden captain pressure.
