Bangladesh national cricket team is all set to host South Africa national cricket team in a two-match Test series in October despite the political turmoil in the country. As per reports from Cricbuzz, it is learnt that Bangladesh Cricket Board is hopeful of playing the two matches.

Reports claimed that the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side will host the South African National Cricket Team in two matches in Dhaka and Chattogram respectively. The BCB is expecting the two-match Test series against the Proteas to be played as per schedule.

Due to the anti-government protests, there has been a lot of speculation over whether the Test series between Bengal Tigers and South Africa will go ahead. Recently, the 2024 T20 World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in the country, was shifted out of the country.

While the Bangladesh Cricket Board has not expressed any concerns, Cricket South Africa (CSA) is expected to meet with the South African Cricket Association (SACA) before making a final decision on their upcoming tour. They are likely to discuss security issues and if any arise, they are unlikely to travel.

However, reports from Cricbuzz indicated that there are no security concerns regarding the tour. It is further learnt that the South African government has not issued a travel advisory against visits to the Asian country and there is a strong possibility that the series will go ahead as scheduled.

Reports also indicated that the BCB has also prepared the preliminary schedule for the series. According to the schedule, it was learnt that the South African National Cricket Team will arrive in the Asian country on October 16 for the two-match series.
