Injury woes are going from bad to worse for the Bangladesh national cricket team. As per Cricbuzz reports, star batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is learned to have been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
Mushfiqur Rahim will miss the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka due to a fracture in his right thumb. The veteran batsman faced the injury during the third ODI against Sri Lanka and was deemed unfit to play in the upcoming series, which will also be part of the World Test Championship.
A source close to Cricbuzz confirmed that Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out of the entire Test series against Sri Lanka. He stated: “He (Mushfiqur) is ruled out of the series due to the fracture.”
Mushfiqur Rahim, after suffering an injury in the third ODI against Bangladesh, went for scans and the MRI did not come out in his favour, ruling him out of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Even though he was battling pain, he made sure to play a vital role for his team.
Mushfiqur Rahim played a good knock for the team and guided his team to victory which helped them clinch the series as well. He stood his ground against the team when it mattered most. In the chase, Bangladesh came under pressure and lost wickets early.
