Tiger Robi, a well-known Bangladeshi fan, has been deported to his native country by the Indian authorities after being involved in all the controversy of recent days.
Tiger Robi, whose real name is Rabi-ul-Islam, attended the Kanpur Test match between India and Bangladesh on the first day. He previously complained of being hit by some of the home fans and was also seen clutching his back in severe pain.
Later, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) officials and security took him to the medical facility. After receiving treatment at the hospital, he changed his statement and claimed that he fell ill and that no one attacked him.

Bangladeshi superfan Tiger Robi deported to home country
Tiger Robi was taken to Chakeri airport and escorted by the state police. Security officers remained at the airport until his flight took off for Delhi on Saturday, September 28.
On Saturday afternoon, Robi took a flight to Dhaka from Delhi airport and was not even allowed to leave the airport premises, according to the official.
ADCP Srivastava informed that Tiger Robi was due to arrive in India on September 18 after obtaining a visa on medical grounds. He was earlier scheduled to undergo treatment at a hospital in Howrah, but instead went to Chennai for the first Test between India and Bangladesh before arriving in Kanpur.
“He was found out of breath when he encountered an officer. He lost consciousness before we could talk to him,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander told PTI. He was later transferred to Regency Hospital, after which he was discharged on Friday night.
Tiger Robi embroiled in controversy
In Kanpur, Robi was seen waving his country’s flag at the C-Balcony venue and was the only fan of both teams to wave any flag. At the same stand, government officials deemed some sectors unsuitable and asked the association not to allow too much crowding.
Robi had a brief interaction with the media on Friday where he said he had been punched in the abdomen during the physical altercation with some of the home fans. But he soon changed his statement after receiving the treatment and said that he was simply feeling unwell due to excessive heat in Kanpur.
“I got sick and the police took me to the hospital. “Now I feel much better,” he said in the video.
Tiger Robi reached Kanpur on Thursday night but had to sleep on the streets. He stayed at a hotel in the city on Friday night and was taken to Chakeri airport the next morning. Kalyanpur ACP Abhishek Pandey claimed that Robi had not been assaulted as alleged earlier and had also received proper medical care.
Meanwhile, the second Test between India and Bangladesh has been severely affected by rain. Only 35 overs could be bowled on Day 1 as Bangladesh scored 107-3. The second day of the test was devastated by rain.
