According to 9News Melbourne, Marcus Stoinis will be the next captain of the Melbourne Stars, replacing Glenn Maxwell, who resigned at the end of last season. Stoinis is a quality all-rounder and has good experience as a captain previously.

After Maxwell resigned at the end of last season, Marcus Stoinis emerged as the favorite to take over. He previously managed Melbourne Stars when Maxwell was out of the team due to injury.
