BCCI Names 14-member India ‘A’ Squad For ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023; Shweta Sehrawat To Lead The Team


The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 14-member India ‘A’ team for the upcoming ACC Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023, which kicks off on June 12 in Hong Kong. Batting all-rounder Shweta Sehrawat was named team captain.

Eight teams will participate in the tournament and will play in two groups: Group A and Group B. The Women in Blue will kick off their tournament campaign by taking on hosts Hong Kong at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground on Tuesday, June 6. 13

Leg spinner Parshavi Chopra and pacemaker Titas Sadhu, who excelled at the U-19 Women’s World Cup, were included in the team. Kanika Ahuja and versatile bowler Shreyanka Patil made the team with their impressive performances in the Women’s Premier League.

“The All India Women’s Selection Committee announced on Friday the India A (Emerging) team for the upcoming ACC Emerging Women’s Asian Cup 2023,” BCCI said in a statement.

India ‘A’ (Emerging) is part of Group A along with Hong Kong, Thailand ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘A’. On the other hand, Bangladesh ‘A’, Sri Lanka ‘A’, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates are in Group B. The final match of the tournament will be played on June 21.
