England captain Ben Stokes is all set to return to the T20 format after a while. According to ESPNCricinfo reports, it has been learnt that he will play in the Hundred for Northern Superchargers and this will be their first time playing in the league since 2021.

Reports claimed that the England and Wales Cricket Board has given Ben Stokes the green light to play in the league. The all-rounder will play under Andrew Flintoff, who will be his coach. Northern Superchargers in Hundred T20 league ready to go Starting July 23rd.

This will be the first time in three years that Ben Stokes has played in the Hundred. He last played for Northern Superchargers in 2021, having featured in two matches. But since taking over the leadership of the England Test team, he has prioritised the longer format of the game and has made sure that he gives his all for the national team in that format.

The Hundred are facing injury problems even before the tournament starts

The Hundred has also been marred by a number of injuries. Will Smeed (Phoenix) and Tash Farrant (Oval Invincibles) will miss the tournament due to hamstring injuries. Joe Root and Zak Crawley will also miss the first few games and in their place, Riley Meredith (Trent Rockets) and James Neesham (London Spirit) have signed short-term deals.
