Robin Minz was acquired by Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 auction for INR 3.6 crore. He was in high demand at the auction as he invited a bidding war between Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians before the Shubman Gill-led side acquired him.
Robin Minz is highly rated in Indian domestic cricket. He is one of the key young artists of Karnataka. He was last seen in action during the Col CK Nayudu Trophy and made sure to leave an impact.
Robin Minz played a magnificent innings of 137 runs for Karnataka in the knockout game. His form would have been a big advantage for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. But unfortunately, fans will have to wait for another year to see him in action on the cricket league’s biggest stage.
I want to see how Shubman Gill operates as captain of Gujarat Titans: Ashish Nehra
Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra also expressed his desire to see Shubman Gill take up the role of captain in the league. The former left-arm pacer stated that the entire India is excited to see the youngster leading the team. He added:
“As the new captain, I want to see how he (Gill) operates and not just me, the whole of India would like to see him because he is that kind of player.
“He seeks to play and do well in all three formats, so we, as a franchise, would like to help him grow more as a person than as a captain. If he grows as a person, he will grow more as a captain in the future and will become better and better.”
Shubman Gill was given the lead after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Titans will open their league account against Mumbai Indians on March 24 at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
