Ravindra Jadeja could miss the upcoming second Test against England. The match between the two teams is scheduled to be held from February 2 in Vizag.
Ravindra Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during the recently concluded first Test against England. The all-rounder was seen clutching his hamstring after he was run over in India’s second innings on Day 4 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ravindra Jadeja was run out in the third session of Day 4. The all-rounder tried to sneak in a single after hitting the ball towards Ben Stokes. The England captain made a great jump and ran from the center to quickly collect the ball.
Ben Stokes reversed the ball to the non-striker’s side and made the direct hit. Ravindra Jadeja was very close to his crease when the ball hit the stumps. As he walked back to the locker room, he grabbed his hamstring.

Although the severity of the injury is not yet known, it did not look great for Ravindra Jadeja. If the all-rounder misses the next match, it will be a big blow for the team as it will certainly hamper the team’s mix for the next match in Vizag.
Ravindra Jadeja has been the vital cog of the team in Tests for the last few years. He has consistently contributed equally well with bat and ball and has been one of the main reasons behind India’s dominance in the longest format of the game.
If Ravindra Jadeja misses the next match, India will probably include Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI. Axar will remain in the playing eleven and is expected to play an important role.
Kuldeep Yadav has been nothing short of exceptional with the ball in Test cricket. He has had a big impact for the team with the ball. Despite his good performance, he has warmed the bench due to traffic in the spin department. He has picked 34 wickets in just 8 matches that he has played.
Ravindra Jadeja’s efforts in the first Test went in vain as India suffered a 28-run defeat.
Ravindra Jadeja gave his best in the first Test against England with bat and ball. However, despite that, India could not win the game as they fell 28 runs short of the target. They could not chase the target of 231 runs as they were bowled out for 202 runs and were 1-0 down in the series.
Ravindra Jadeja contributed equally well with bat and ball. In the first innings, he picked 3 wickets with the ball and helped his team defeat their opponents for 246 runs. After that with the bat, he was the team’s top scorer with 87 runs to his name and helped them take a lead of 190 runs.
Also in the second innings, Ravindra Jadeja was excellent with the ball and bagged two wickets. He also looked solid with the bat, but he couldn’t continue when he ran out. It remains to be seen whether he recovers in time for the next game or not.
