Chandika Hathurusingha crowns India ‘best team’ and exposes gap with Pakistan and Bangladesh

Bangladesh National Cricket Team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha has praised the Indian National Cricket Team, labeling it as the best after the conclusion of the two-match Test series.

India continued their dominance at home and won a record-extending 18th consecutive Test series at home. It was a stupendous performance by the hosts as they completely outplayed the Bangla Tigers in both matches.

India demolishes Bangladesh in Test series

India won the first Test by 280 runs and the second Test by 7 wickets. The second Test victory was quite special for India as they managed to finish the match in four and a half days, despite two and a half days being abandoned due to rain, wet outfields and bad light.

India displayed an ultra-aggressive approach with the bat, hitting the fastest 50s, 100s, 150s, 200s and 250s in the history of Test cricket. In the end, they managed a small target of 95 runs, which they easily chased.

The 2-0 defeat at the hands of India left Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha dejected. He said they were not prepared to deal with the Indian team’s offensive approach.

“The loss is really hurting us in terms of our performance. (India’s approach) has not really been seen before. Full credit to Rohit and the Indian team for coming up with that approach and making it match. Actually, “We didn’t react quickly enough (to India’s approach),” Hathurusingha said.

Chandika Hathurusingha also expressed her disappointment over Bangladesh’s batting performance and said that they need to improve a lot.

“The batting was disappointing in this series. Some players did well in the last series. We have not been performing to our potential in the last few series. One of the reasons for the batting was the quality of the opponents. The level of skill shown in this series The series was very high. We are learning a lot from this. Playing against India is the toughest task,” Chandika Hathurusingha added.

We came here after beating Pakistan, but… – Chandika Hathurusingha

Chandika Hathurusingha further indirectly stated that the gap between India and its rivals Bangladesh and Pakistan is quite big. He said Bangladesh had defeated Pakistan before the India series and they saw a big difference in the skill level in the series against the Rohit Sharma-led team.

“We came here after beating Pakistan, but we knew the challenges would be big in India. It wouldn’t be good if we attached our feelings to our performance. We didn’t get too hyped up about winning in Pakistan. So we shouldn’t let down too much after this result. “We knew what we did well to win in Pakistan and we know what we couldn’t do here to compete with these guys,” he said.

“I think in this series we were completely outplayed. I saw the difference in skill levels, so we need to improve. That being said, we didn’t play to our best potential. We’re disappointed with that. There’s no point in pushing.” It depends on each individual player and each of their intermediate decisions, if we don’t get the right support,” Chandika Hathurusingha added.

As far as I know, he is playing the South Africa series: Chandika Hathurusingha on Shakib Al Hasan.

Shakib Al Hasan had recently confirmed his retirement from Test cricket and said that the Kanpur Test would be his last if he is not allowed to play against South Africa at home due to security reasons. Meanwhile, Chandika Hathurusingha said she heard that Shakib Al Hasan will take part in the Test series against South Africa. He said:

“I haven’t heard anything that says this is the last time (Shakib plays). As far as I know, he is playing the South Africa series. I think the succession plans are always there, especially at this stage of his career.” We are all surprised that he said that (South Africa) is his last series. “You won’t get a comparable replacement for someone like Shakib.”
