IPL 2024, CSK vs GT Impact players: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will lock horns in a mouth-watering clash on Tuesday (March 26). The CSK vs GT match is scheduled to be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
It will be the first meeting between the two teams since CSK beat GT in the IPL 2023 final to win the title for the fifth time. Both teams will look to extend their winning start in IPL 2024. CSK began their campaign with a convincing six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first game of the tournament.
The reigning champions had RCB reeling at 78 for 5 at one point before the Bengaluru-based team managed to post a competitive total of 173. However, CSK faced little difficulty in reaching the total as they crossed the finish line in 19th place. losing only four wickets.
On the other hand, GT began their tournament campaign with a hard-fought six-wicket victory over five-time champions Mumbai Indians. After scoring 168, GT managed to restrict MI to 162 for 9. At one stage, MI were 129 for 3 and looked destined to win the game, but GT came up with a brilliant display of bowling to achieve a thrilling victory.

GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking at the toss, the India opener said: “Let’s bowl first. That match was physically and mentally exhausting. Everyone is well rested and well settled with 10 teams playing. We have enough rest time between games. It shows the character of the team, the way our players bounced back against Mumbai. Play with the same team.”
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said: “We wanted to bowl first, the wicket is tough and it looks like the first game. It was a rusty start (against RCB) but we came back well. Everyone showed good intentions throughout the innings. Pathirana replaces Theekshana.”
