Chahar, who has been hampered by injuries in recent years, last played for India, in an ODI, in December 2022. He recently scored a good Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) for Rajasthan. There he got ten wickets in five games with an economy of 7.38. With the bat, he scored 67 runs off 39 balls at a strike rate of 171.79.
