Delhi Capitals Playing 11 vs Lucknow Super Giants

Capitals of Delhi will face Lucknow Super Giants in match 26 of IPL 2024 on Friday, April 26. The match starts at 7:30 pm IST with DC against them. The Capitals are yet to win against LSG in the IPL, losing their previous three games. Let’s take a look at the Playing 11 of Delhi Capitals against LSG for match 26 of IPL 2024.

LSG defeated DC once in IPL 2022 and twice in IPL 2023. The team comes into this game after back-to-back losses against KKR and Mumbai Indians. Their bowlers took a beating in these two games and conceded 272 runs against the Knight Riders and 235 against Mumbai.

They will play on a completely different court than the one they played in their last two games. For this game, their most important pitcher, who could have been a problem in these conditions, is suffering from a groin injury. Alongside him, there are reports that Mitchell Marsh will likely be ruled out for a week with a hamstring injury.

Delhi Capitals are among the original three teams who are yet to win the IPL. Every year they come in with good players but somehow underperform. They played the IPL 2020 final but then the franchise’s form declined in many ways. They are still looking to find coherence.

Delhi Capitals Playing 11 vs LSG- IPL 2024, Match 26

Prithvi Shaw

Shaw scored 66 in the previous match against Mumbai Indians. He quickly scored 43 against CSK and just 10 against KKR. The half-century should be very useful for him in this match. He didn’t play the first two games.

David Warner

Warner will open the batting with Shaw. He has already scored 152 runs so far this season with a score of over fifty. Warner, as always, is key to Delhi’s hopes this season.

Rishabh Pant (C/WK)

With Mitchell Marsh likely to be ruled out for a week, Pant can slot in at three and improve the order. He has already scored two fifties and looked good with the bat.

Abishek Porel

Porel has been used most often as an impact player by Delhi Capitals. However, he can be given a chance in the playing XI. He has played some good cameos for the team, including 41 off 31 balls against MI.

Tristan Stubbs

Stubbs has batted at a strike rate of 193 so far this season, scoring 174 runs in five games, including 71 off 25 balls against the Mumbai Indians. He has often been left without partners.

Axar Patel

Patel will come in at six. He has hit well for DC in the past but hasn’t gone that far this season. So far, he has scored only 51 runs this season and has picked up five wickets.

Lalit Yadav / Kuldeep Yadav

DC will need at least two spinners in the Ekana field and hence they will be able to look towards Lalit Yadav. However, if Kuldeep Yadav gets fit, he should feature in the XI. He got three wickets in the first two matches he played.

Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed will be one of the two Indian pacers in the team. He has taken seven wickets in five games and could not play in the match against CSK. He will play his 49th match in the IPL next match.

Ishant Sharma

The veteran Indian pacer will be the other Indian seamer in the XI. He has played the last two games and has gone all out. However, his dismissal of Andre Russell against KKR is the impact he had with the ball.

Jhye Richarson / Lizaad Williams

Richardson played the last game and gave away 40 runs in four wicketless overs. If Williams is available for this game, he should be chosen instead of the Australian pacer.

Anrich Nortje

Nortje concludes Delhi Capitals’ probable XI against Lucnow Super Giants. He has picked six wickets in the four matches he has played so far. He missed DC’s first game. He is one short of 50 IPL wickets for the Capitals.

Impact Substitute: Yash Dhull/Mukesh Kumar

Depending on the match scenario, Delhi can use Yas Dhull or Mukesh Kumar as Impact Sub. He was good with his deadly bowling skills against CSK and hence, if the need arises, he can be utilized.
