He noted that success on the field speaks louder than any number of posts or followers. The former Indian captain revealed that he had different coaches throughout his career, and although they kept pushing for PR, he never paid attention to them as he always believed in the sole philosophy that his game should be enough to make noise among the fans.

MS Dhoni said on Eurogrip Tyres’ YouTube channel: “At all times, I have had different managers, and all the managers were saying, ‘You should do some PR, build this, build that.’ So I looked at all my different managers and got the same answer. You know, if I play good cricket, I don’t need PR. It becomes very difficult to put something on constantly. So, I always say, you know, if I have something, I’ll put it up. If I don’t have anything I don’t put it on. So, it also eliminates that stress.”

MS Dhoni investigates PR-obsessed players

MS Dhoni, the only winner of all ICC trophies as captain, emphasized that if players focus on excelling in their 22-yard work, everything else will fall into place. You feel that the pressure to maintain a certain image on social media can be overwhelming and is totally necessary.
