Dodda Ganesh slams Pakistan’s home Tests as ‘most boring in cricket history’

Former Indian national team cricketer Dodda Ganesh has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for preparing a street-like pitch for the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The first match of the two-match Test series between the teams is being held at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

The first Test match between the Shan Masood-led side and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team is heading towards a draw. This comes after both teams batted sensationally well in the game and with just one more day left in the game, the second innings for either team is yet to begin.

The pitch at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium has offered nothing to the bowlers. The Rawalpindi track looked to be covered in grass and on the opening day, there was plenty of help for the fast bowlers as the home team’s batsmen struggled to get going against the new ball.

However, after that first session of play, there was no help for the bowlers as the field seemed to be level. There is no help for the fast bowlers, and since then, batting has been easy as bowlers from both teams have batted well and racked up big runs.

For the hosts, Saud Shakeel (141) and Mohammad Rizwan (171*) scored vital centuries to get back into the game. The duo put on 240 runs together and ensured the team got crucial runs, having lost three wickets for just 16 runs and then losing Saim Ayub (56) for 114 runs.

Relying on the unbridled effort, the hosts scored a total of 448 runs on the board. The Bangladesh national cricket team could only manage to get 6 wickets. Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud got two wickets each, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan got one wicket each.

Bangladesh also had some problems with the new ball and lost a few wickets in the beginning. But after that phase, batting also became easy. Shadman Islam played a vital innings and finished with 93 runs. After that, Mominul Haque also scored a half-century.

The best player of the team was Mushfiqur Rahim, who played a magnificent innings of 191 runs and ensured that the Bangladesh National Cricket Team took the lead in the first innings. He was supported by Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who also scored half-centuries.
