Kishan has made a grand return to red-ball cricket in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024. The wicketkeeper-batsman made a surprise entry in the India C team for the ongoing game against India B and ensured that he took the cricketing fraternity by storm with his heroics.
Kishan, who missed the first round of the 2024 Duleep Trophy due to a groin injury, made sure that the stage was spectacular and got his team out of trouble. The wicketkeeper-batsman came out to bat after the team lost two wickets in quick succession along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad getting injured.
Kishan played with a positive approach and hit the bowlers all over the pitch. The left-hander first hit a fantastic half-century but then made sure to go ahead and make a good impression, especially after the difficult last few months he has been going through.
Kishan brought up his century in 121 balls and gave a resounding reply to all the critics. He finished with an innings of 111 runs in 123 balls and also hit 14 fours and 3 sixes in his innings before being bowled by Mukesh Kumar.
Kishan, who had his BCCI central contract terminated, returned to domestic cricket through the Buchi Babu tournament and made an instant impact by scoring a fantastic century for Jharkhand in the tournament and announcing his arrival in style. With a strong showing in the Duleep Trophy, it will not be a surprise if he makes a comeback to the Indian team.
