Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the main reasons behind India’s bowling dominance in the ongoing Test series against England. Bumrah hit a six-fer in the second Test match played in Vizag and scripted India’s 106-run victory.
Former England Cricketer Owais Shah believes that England I would like Jasprit Bumrah to miss the fourth Test match being played next week in Ranchi. Shah stated that the Three Lions would like a spinning wicket because they have played well against spinners in the series so far. He added that the visitors have struggled against Jasprit Bumrah and believes they will be happy if he is rested.

Owais Shah told Colors Cineplex: “I feel England will like a spinning wicket because the way they have battled spin in this series, they haven’t faced any difficulties. They have faced problems mainly against Jasprit Bumrah. I heard that Bumrah will probably be rested for the next match. “England will be happy if Jasprit Bumrah rests.”
It is speculated that Jasprit Bumrah will miss the fourth Test match as he may be rested to manage the workload. Bumrah has had an injury-prone career and remained out of international cricket for almost a year. Bumrah faced a back injury and went through his rehabilitation period at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Jasprit Bumrah has been in excellent form since returning to international cricket. Bumrah has made a tremendous return to the cricket field and has returned with more pace and precision. Bumrah has been brilliant with his yorkers and pacers, which are his key strengths. He also picked up 21 wickets during the ODI World Cup 2023 and remained at fourth place in the list of leading wicket-takers.

India achieved a record victory in the third Test match played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. The hosts handed a 434-run defeat to England and recorded their biggest win in Test cricket. India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series and would now aim to win the series in Ranchi by winning the fourth Test match.
India is currently in second place in the 2023-25 World Test Championship standings and would aim to move to first place and qualify for another WTC final.
