As Virat Kohli began preparations for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, some fans were seen climbing nearby trees to watch him play. It shows the craze and popularity of Kohli as fans are always eager to catch a glimpse even if it requires going all out.
The Indian team is practicing in Perth away from public view as the ground is covered with black sheets to block the view of spectators. However, not even these leaves could stop them from finding ways; Fans risked their well-being and climbed trees, giving them a rough idea of what was happening in the practice session.
Those fans also seemed confident in India’s chances in the impending Border Gavaskar Trophy, with one of them predicting a whitewash over Australia. They were also sure that Virat Kohli, who has not been in good form of late, will regain his lost touch and score big in the five-match Test series.

However, as seen in the video posted by Fox Cricket, he felt a bit uncomfortable against Jasprit Bumrah in the nets. He will face similar challenges next week as the course in Perth will be spicy and will help fast players significantly.
Virat Kohli’s tremendous record on Australian soil
While Virat Kohli’s recent form and a similar pattern of dismissals are a cause for concern, he boasts of a formidable record in Australia in red-ball cricket. He has 1352 runs at an average of 54.08 in 25 Test innings, comprising four fifty-six centuries.
He handles pace and rebound well and is always up to the challenge posed by a fierce Australian attack. That said, Kohli’s recent form will surely be in the back of his mind, and he would like to start after a quiet season at home, where he consistently struggled with the spinners.
The Indian batting line-up will be slightly inexperienced and vulnerable, especially in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Therefore, Kohli must set an example as a senior player.
India also does not have Cheteshwar Pujara or Ajinkya Rahane this time. India’s chances will largely depend on Kohli’s performance in the competition.
