The UAE posted a solid total of 130/5 in their six overs. In response, India stumbled early, losing Bharat Chipli and Manoj Tiwary cheaply. Captain Robin Uthappa revived the innings with a dazzling 43 off just 10 balls, taking India to 99/3 after five overs.

With 32 needed to go in the final over, Stuart Binny was on strike. Binny started with a boundary, then, after a wide, unleashed four consecutive sixes, leaving India needing just three runs from the last ball. However, he missed the final delivery and in an attempt to complete two runs, ran out, resulting in a heartbreaking one-run defeat for India.
Stuart Binny has played 95 matches in the IPL, scoring a total of 880 runs. He has represented RCB and RR, and also appeared in one match for MI.
The Hong Kong Six campaign in India so far
India were placed in Group C along with Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates in the Hong Kong Sixes 2024. In their first match against Pakistan, India posted a solid total of 119/2 in their six overs. However, Pakistan responded with an impressive chase, reaching the target in five overs without losing a wicket.
In the bowling round, a format in which each bowler must bowl one over, India faced England and New Zealand. They narrowly lost to England by 15 runs, unable to reach a target of 121. Additionally, they lost to New Zealand by 44 runs, falling short in attempting to chase 147.
