The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday (May 14) announced the schedule for the India Women vs South Africa Women all-format series. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team will host the Proteas team for three ODIs, one Test and three T20Is in June and July this year.
India vs South Africa will begin with a three-match ODI series. Before the series, both teams will face each other in the warm-up match, which will be played on June 14. The series will begin on June 16 followed by the second and third games to be played on June 19 and 23.
The ODI series between India and South Africa will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The three games between the teams will also form part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-2025. The top four teams in the tournament will qualify directly for the 2025 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India. South Africa is second in the standings, while India will qualify directly.
Two teams will then face each other in a unique test match. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from June 28 to July 1. After a long time, Chennai will host a women’s Test match.
The one-off Test will be followed by a three-match T20I series against South Africa. The first game is scheduled for July 5 and the second and third games are scheduled for July 7 and 9 respectively. All three matches will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

We will try to play our best cricket: Harmanpreet Kaur after series win over Bangladesh
The Indian women’s cricket team recently toured the Bangladesh national cricket team for the five-match T20I series. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team put up a magnificent effort with bat and ball and took the series by a margin of 5-0 to keep their preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 high.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur spoke about the series win over Bangladesh and stated that her team showed calm throughout the series. She added that the Women’s Premier League helped them improve their game and they hope to play their best cricket. Speaking to the stations, she explained:
“I think the calmness that all the players showed was nice. While bowling and batting. We have some areas to improve. WPL gave some players some confidence. It has helped them improve their game. This series will definitely give us a lot of confidence. We are working very hard. We will try to play our best cricket,” he concluded.
