Full schedule for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 announced: Check out the list of matches, dates, venues, timings and more

On Monday, August 26, the International Cricket Council (ICC) finally revealed the updated fixtures for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to begin in October.

The competition was scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, but the ICC was forced to take a last-minute decision and change the date of the tournament.

The 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup has been moved out of Bangladesh due to political unrest in the country and governments of some participating teams have also imposed travel advisories.

In the end, the ICC chose the United Arab Emirates as the host country. Even though the competition will not be held in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will act as the official host.

Meanwhile, the ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be played at two different venues in Dubai and Sharjah. A total of 23 matches will be played in the tournament.

The ICC has made no changes to the groups as Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been placed in Group A, while South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland form Group B.

It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka and Scotland qualified for the showpiece tournament through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, which was held in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

Meanwhile, this time the classic format will be followed in the tournament and each team will play 4 group stage matches and the teams finishing in the top two will reserve their place in the semi-finals.

Just like in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, a separate condition has been set for Team India as if they qualify for the semi-finals, they will participate in the first semi-final irrespective of their No. 1 or No. 2 position. The Indian women’s national cricket team would be eager to get the job done after the men’s team’s recent victory at the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be held on October 17 and 18. Both semi-finals will have a reserve day. Also, the final will be held on October 20, which will also have a reserve day.

Prior to the main tournament, the ICC has organised 10 warm-up matches to help teams prepare for the competition. The warm-up matches will be held from 28 September to 1 October.

Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka

Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland
