India vs Sri Lanka

Fans reacted on Twitter after Sri Lanka sealed the three-match series against India following their dominant win in the third game of the series. They defeated the Rohit Sharma-led side by 110 runs at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka opted to bat and got off to a dream start with openers Pathum Nissanka (45) and Avishka Fernando (96) putting pressure on India with their opening over of 89 runs. After Nissanka got out, Kusal Mendis (59) supported Fernando. They added 82 runs for the second wicket.

However, after that, the Indian bowlers made a spectacular comeback and got wickets in the middle and final overs, limiting the flow of runs. Riyan Parag got three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar each got one wicket as Sri Lanka finished with a total of 248 for seven.

In the chase, Rohit Sharma (35) again gave a positive start to the team but did not get the desired support from the other end. Virat Kohli (20) played some glorious plays but could not recover after the start he had.

Dunith Wellalage took four wickets in an instant as the Indian wickets fell like a house of cards and came under huge pressure. India were reduced to 108 for seven with all the big names back in the hut, struggling against the Sri Lankan team’s bowlers.

Washington Sundar (30) tried to fight for his team but could not sustain the pace for long. Sri Lanka bowled out India for 138 runs to win the game by a massive margin of 110 runs. Apart from Dunith, Maheesh Theekshana and Jeffrey Vandersay picked up two wickets as the island nation registered its first ODI series win over India since 1997.
