Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is probably the best all-format bowler in the world right now. The fast bowler achieved another unique feat during India’s first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.

Bumrah led the first innings with a brilliant four-wicket haul and Bangladesh had no answer for him. He struck in the first over of the innings by getting the big wicket of Shadman Islam. He was then taken out of the attack but returned to bowling when Mushfiqur Rahim came to the crease.

Bumrah did exactly what he was asked to do. He dismissed the dangerous Rahim cheaply as he was caught at slip by KL Rahul. The 30-year-old returned in the death overs and cleaned up the tail by dismissing Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed. He finished with 4-50 in the innings.

Jasprit Bumrah joins an elite club and achieves a unique feat

When Bumrah got his third wicket of the innings in the form of Hasan Mahmud, he completed 400 wickets in his international career. It was a massive achievement for a bowler who was once considered unfit for Test cricket.

Bumrah currently has 163 wickets in 37 Tests, 149 wickets in 89 ODIs and 89 wickets in 70 T20Is to his name. The right-arm fast bowler is a lethal bowler across formats and has a proven track record as well.

Jasprit Bumrah has become the 10th Indian player and the sixth Indian fast bowler to reach the milestone of 400 international wickets. He has thus joined the elite club of 400 international wickets takers.

Jasprit Bumrah is 30 years old and is likely to break many records in the coming years. Since his debut in 2016, he has established himself as India’s best bowler. He is a genuine wicket-taker and usually scores goals when his team needs it.

Jasprit Bumrah returns to international cricket in style

Bumrah is excellent with the new ball and also has the ability to reverse swing. He also has a slower, unplayable ball that he uses as a surprise weapon.

Jasprit Bumrah’s last international match before the ongoing Test was in late June in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he produced a sensational play to lead India to a title win. He was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance with the ball.

Despite returning to international cricket after a long time, he was right on target and showed no signs of lacking pace. Bumrah will be important in the upcoming Test season for India, where they will play 5 Tests at home and 5 away.
