Gujarat Titans openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill on Friday (May 10) left Chennai Super Kings speechless by scoring fiery centuries in the ongoing game at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

CSK’s decision to bowl first turned out to be a nightmare as Gill and Sudharsan came out firing. Without much to lose as their playoff chances were all but exhausted, the GT stars played freely and scored centuries.

At the end of the powerplay, GT raced to 58 without loss with Gill on 29 and Sudharsan on 28. They raised their 100-run stand in the 10th over. Sudharsan completed his fifty in the ninth over, while Gill reached the milestone in the eleventh over.

Both the batsmen went at it shot for shot as they sent the CSK players on a leather hunt. Gill was the first to complete his century, reaching the triple-digit mark in the 17th over off 50 balls. On the last ball of the same over, Sudharsan hit Simarjeet Singh for six to reach his century in style off 50 balls.

While both Gill and Sudharsan scored centuries, the cricket fraternity was quick to shower them with praise. These are some of the reactions to their centuries.

An unprecedented century:

Talking about the game, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan shared a record 210 runs before both were dismissed in quick succession in the 18th over. Tushar Deshpande dismissed both GT openers.

The right-arm pacer dismissed Sudharsan first. The left-hander departed after scoring 103 runs off 51 balls with the help of five fours and seven sixes. On the other hand, Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring 104 runs in 55 balls with the help of nine fours and six sixes. At the time of writing this report, GT were 219 for 2 after 19 overs.
