India captain Rohit Sharma is all set to rest for the upcoming ODI series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. As per PTI reports, it is learnt that due to the hectic schedule, the captain has been asked to take some time off.
India He will tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is. With Rohit Sharma set to be rested in the 50-overs format, the question remains as to who will lead the team in his absence. Reports claim that all-rounder Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are in contention to take over the role.
Hardik Pandya is currently the vice-captain of the Indian team in the white-ball squad and hence could be the favourite to fill the position. But reports claimed that KL Rahul will also be a strong candidate due to his leadership during the ODI series against South Africa.
