Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) assistant coach Abhishek Nayar praised Gautam Gambhir after the team’s magnificent start in IPL 2024. Nayar also said that having Gautam Gambhir on the bench with the players makes a big difference.
As a mentor, Gautam Gambhir has shown glimpses of his magical leadership for KKR in IPL 2024. After the first two weeks, the Shreyas Iyer-led team looked like the more dominant team. Kolkata Knight Riders are unbeaten in IPL 2024 after three games.
KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 4 runs in the opening game in a thrilling clash. Later, the two-time champions beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets and Delhi Capitals by 106 runs. KKR’s last two games were one-sided and they dominated the opponent in all aspects.

Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings in their next IPL 2024 match on Monday, April 8. During the pre-match press conference of the CSK vs KKR clash, KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar praised mentor Gautam. Gambir.
“There is no substitute for experience or a captain who has won two IPL championships with a franchise. Whether as a mentor or on the field, having GG in the dugout makes a big difference and is a big boost for the players,” Nayar said.
He also highlighted how players like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine have improved under Gautam Gambhir. Notably, Narine helped KKR get off to a fast start in IPL 2024. On the other hand, Andre Russell executed fantastic results in the lower order.
“Players who have played with him, like Sunny (Sunil Narine) and (Andre) Russell, can see the difference, with Sunny scoring runs as an opener. So everything matters,” he added.

Abhishek Nayar also praised Gautam Gambhir’s work ethic and his attitude of pursuing his dreams with his hard work.
“Your work ethic, in addition to your skills, the willingness to work hard is important because that is a type of talent that not everyone possesses. Skill is something you can develop if you have the ability to work hard. It is something that has always stood out in him for a few years: his attitude of going, getting it, improving and chasing his dreams,” concluded Nayar, who played 60 IPL matches between the 2008 and 2014 seasons.
Meanwhile, with their unbeaten streak, KKR is second in the IPL 2024 points table with 6 points. They follow Rajasthan Royals in the list, who enjoy the best position with 4 wins out of 4. Kolkata faced a big challenge in the next match against CSK in Chennai.
